iQ Content: Google Analytics Authorised Consultants for Ireland

Being part of the Google Analytics network means we’re recognised experts in the field of web analytics.

Why Google Analytics?

Good question. The quick answer is that it’s free so there would need to be a pretty compelling reason not to go with it.

All tools are just that: tools. None of them will analyse your website or SEM campaigns for you. We believe you’ll need expertise to do that for you.

Focus on the analysis, not the tool

Our take on analytics is that instead of forking out on a potentially expensive analytics product, focus on the metrics that you should be measuring and how to interpret the data which leads to improving the performance of your website.

That’s it for the trumpet-blowing. If you’re interested, check out our web analytics services page and let’s start a conversation on the metrics that matter.

  1. Congratulations lads. I know how much effort that must have required and how much knowledge is actually required.

First in Ireland I believe. Well done!

  2. Thanks Dave, appreciate the kind words.

  3. I have used Google Analytics , however, I like GoStats.com due to

    -advanced referrer displays

    -realtime nature of the stats

    -inclusion of your website in its top sites directory list, which is a high PR list thus worth the effort in itself;

  4. I would question the need for “realtime” nature of the displays.

    What does everyone else think?

  5. I agree Lar. I think real time clickstream data can be a distraction, especially to smaller businesses without a dedicated analytics team.

Deora, I feel that any company or business that uses an analytics package based on weather or not they get a high PR link has their priorities all wrong. Moreso when it is an off context link on a link list page. Analytics should be a choice made based on company goals and requirements.

Lar, have you read Avinash Kaushik’s new book? I am a little over half way through. I really cannot say enough good things about it.

OT: How about email notification of comment replies?

  6. Hi Dave,

we have the book, there’s a queue for it, so I’m in line!

We’ve a bespoke blogging system that we built ourselves a over a year ago, which is missing email notification but I’ll certainly add it as a “feature request” ;)

  7. @Dave – I absolutely agree with your comments on real time data. While there may be scenarios when real time data is of use, for most businesses this is not the case. Analytics should inform your long term strategy rather than being something you refer to for quick answers to big questions.

As you say a company needs to select a tool based on company goals and requirements and if there are genuine reasons you need real time data, well then maybe Google analytics is not for you.

On Avinash’s book, I am currently hogging the office copy, am not quite as far into as you Dave, but it is proving a great read. I am an avid reader of his blog also – highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in analytics. See http://www.kaushik.net/avinash/

  8. @Lar – thanks. It’s for your benefit though. ;)

@Clodagh – Yes, his blog was actually one of the first I ever subscribed to. He has some nice lengthy reads. Great that the proceeds of the book are going to a worthy cause too.

When I say I’m about half way through, of course I am stuck on the first month but it’s working out well.Nice to be able to learn and absorb at a slow rate. I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t read a few of the last chapters. ;) You can borrow my copy but you’ll have to wait another 5 months!

Fantastic to see some locals into the hardcore heavy stuff actually! Congratulations again on the qualification.

  9. Congrats lads! bringing some trust to the irish SEO market.
