John Wood - Senior Analyst
John is a Senior Analyst, with more than six years' experience in content production, requirements analysis, web usability and information architecture.
John worked on a freelance basis with iQ Content from 2002, joining full-time in October 2004. Since then, he has worked on a wide variety of analysis and design projects for clients such as Vodafone, Tourism Ireland, and Comhairle. He has also designed and delivered training courses on usability evaluation, web form design and information architecture.
John is a recognised expert in user centred design methods such as persona and scenario development, and has considerable experience in user testing and expert evaluation methods. This extends to information architecture design techniques such as card sorting, affinity diagrams and the development of controlled vocabularies.
Before joining iQ Content, John worked at the National Council for the Blind of Ireland, conducting research on haptic user interfaces and assistive technologies. He was also instrumental in setting up the NCBI's Centre for Inclusive Technology (CFit). Previously, John spent six years at eLearning company SmartForce, where he established the technical publications group, managed business requirements analysis and led an initiative to introduce user centred design into the software development process.
John has a First Class Honours degree in Modern and Contemporary History from the University of Ulster and is currently studying for a Masters in Psychology.
